Group Medical Insurance

Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)

A group HRA works best for companies that offer group health insurance and want to save money without canceling (or reducing) employee coverage. “Raise the deductible on the group plan and self-insure the increase.”

With a Group HRA, employers reduce the premium on their current group policy by increasing employee exposure (e.g. raising the deductible). Then, they use a group HRA to cover the employees increased exposure (e.g. increased deductible) with tax free defined contributions. Features include typical net savings of 20-40% with no reduction in benefits, electronic plan documents and integration with any payroll system.
